3 Generations Go After Trout in the Bay

Captain Brian took his two sons and 10 year-old grandson to the sparkling grassy flats of Biscayne Bay on the Nice 'n Easy recently. 10 year-old Keanu had the first stroke of luck when he landed a keeper 16 1/2 inch speckled seatrout on a piece of shrimp. He hooked, fought and landed the beautiful fish, his first seatrout. Keanu's Dad landed another 16 inch keeper a little while later. Dad and son collected some keeper mangrove snappers and released a number of seatrout and snappers. They used fresh shrimp and slices of pinfish they caught. All in all an outstanding day with 3 generations of fisherman enjoying the beautiful waters of Biscayne Bay!

Fishing Biscayne Bay Grass Flats for Speckled Seatrout

"...would like to add that this was the highpoint of our summer and the best fishing trip of our lives. Your knowledge of the sport of fishing, the laws governing which fish are keepers and which must be released, all the way to how the tide works and affects fishing conditions was astounding. This was truly a learning experience for my son Charles and I as well as one of our last chances to spend significant time together before his going away to college and that made this trip with you all the more special. We thank you and hope we can do another trip with you in the future."

Sincerely,
Scott Gillig

Scott and Charlie have lived in Fort Lauderdale for over 14 years. They live on a lake but have not been successful in catching many fish. Charlie was recently accepted into college in Sarasota, so Scott decided to give Charlie a going away present: a fishing trip with Captain Brian on the Nice 'N Easy.

Fantastic Day of Fishing With the Kids

Wow what a day! The kids had a great haul.

Snaring a Snook

Frank and Frankie had fished the Florida Keys for tarpon. Before they left for Chicago we decided to go night fishing in Port Everglades. After losing a big snook to the docks, Frankie Jr. nailed this beautiful snook which he released unharmed. They both love to fish and cannot wait to come back to Florida.

Trout Fishing

Captain Dan and his father Pat Franco fished the Nice&Easy with Captain Brian from Lower Matecumbe in the Florida Keys all the way across Florida Bay. About a 28 mile journey. We started fishing near channel two bridge and after a slow bite we decided to cross the Bay. At the first set of markers we decided to try to hook a very large goliath grouper that Captain Dan spotted under the channel marker. I set up what I thought would be enough fire power. A TLD 25 with 60lb test line with a #10 bronze hook attached to a 100LB test flourocarbon leader.

Keith and Goliath

This is Keith Binder fishing the Florida Key in Lower Matecumbe with Capt. Brian. He hooked and fought this 35 lb plus Goliath Grouper to the Boat. We released him unharmed.

Landing a Lemon Shark

Grandpa Joe from New Jersey brought his seven year old grandson Robert to fish Flamingo. Robert is a true fisherman. He hooked and fought a one hundred plus pound lemon shark all by himself. He did not need help from Capt. Brian or Grandpa.

Three Generations Go Fishing On The Intracoastal

I took my son Glenn and grandson Keanu fishing during their recent visit back home. We found a canal right off the intracoastal and cast our lines baited with frozen shrimp. Keanu had a great time catching grunts and pufferfish, and nearly hooked a snook. He really improved his casting and hooked the fish and reeled them in all by himself. Under my strict supervision, of course, Keanu tried his hand at the wheel of the boat. We wrapped up our short trip by feeding dozens of supersized Jack Crevalle at a nearby waterfront restaurant.
