Dolphin Chasing Seatrout in the Bay

Flamingo in the Everglades National Park is an experience each and every time I venture into Florida Bay. All of the bird life changes with the seasons. Flocks of white pelicans roost in the winter time. Fish eagles nest on pilings waiting to dive for a fish meal. The dolphin spend their time rounding up schools of bait fish for dinner. However, once when we were on a grass flat fishing for Seatrout a large trout was on the surface engulfing my lure. Next thing we knew a dolphin scattered the school of trout, making them all jump into the air to escape. The Seatrout spit the lure and scooted away. I’m always amazed at what we see when fishing the bay.
